General Election
UKIP leader Nigel Farage is going to challenge Buckingham MP, John Bercow, in the next General Election.  The sitting Tory MP, now Speaker, would have been returned unopposed according to major party convention.  Bercow was tarnished in the expense sleaze inquiry.  He went on to claim £23,000 to make the Speaker’s flat child friendly, and another £6,500 for a sofa and £750 for cushions.  This is at a time when Britain is afflicted by something more like a trade depression, than a recession.

Outrage over UKIP offices in meadow Walk

UKIP Leader Nigel Farage has set up his General Election Campaign Office in Buckingham. His campaign is going to be launched on Sepetmber 26th.

The UKIP leader has cited sitting MP John Bercow as tainted by the expenses scandal.  He is breaking the tradition of not challenging the chosen House of Commons Speaker.

Pay to park in Buckingham and Winslow in 2010

As part of budget cuts at Aylesbury Vale car parking charges will soon be coming to Buckingham. The £330,000 cost of the changes are to be discussed at a district council cabinet meeting on December 1st. There will be a 21-day consultation period but work is expected to start by April next year. They spend to save money.

During a recession Buckingham Traders Association give people another reason to go out of town to shop. A town well served with buses will charge staff on very low wages, such as market traders and shop workers, just £2.50 a day for parking. An hour will be free, two hours for 30p, three hours 50p, fours hours £! and five hours for £1.50.

It may not seem like a lot of money to AVDC's director of corporate resources, who parks and travels at the local council taxpayers expense, but over the working week it is a lot of money to ask those who have very little to find. The casual shopper will most likely just opt to drive staright to Milton Keynes without bothering to look at shops in Buckingham. The local worker has far less choice in the matter.

Those in Winslow will also share in the parking con - surely an increase in charges will deter the casual passing trade which both towns depend on? Never mind that you the local taxpayer must support the budget any way you can otherwise these very in touch people will all join the many who are already unemployed. I am sure that they will be thinking of you struggling on.

ARSON ATTACK ON BUCKINGHAM BUSINESS DECEMBER 18TH 2009

Two Buckingham Fire appliances attended an incident on the A421 this morning at around 4am.  An ex Crossville 1972 Leyland National bus ( original registration WFM 807L) was gutted, shortly after being refurbished as a roadside café.  Andy George purchased the vehicle from local businesswoman, Linda Beckett of True Path Services, in August this year.

Andy runs ‘Daddy Gees’ fast food chain of roadside eating-places.  He told our reporter that he had received threats against his business two days ago.A bus window had been smashed and he thought that was the end of matters.

Cooking equipment had been removed from the vehicle and laid alongside before it was set on fire.  Andy believes that the arsonists also have fast food interests.

He said:’ I think they put the equipment there ready to take with them, but the bus went up quicker than they expected. They obviously had to run for it. It would have been much worse if the gas cylinders had not been stored in fireproof cabinets.  These people were very selfish and could have caused a major incident.’

The A421, just west of the roundabout junction with the A413 road into town was closed, while fire fighters dealt with the blaze.  Police are looking at the wreckage for forensic evidence, as part of a criminal investighation.

Andy George, left, discusses the situation with Buckingham's fire station officer.  He was told that there was hope of forensic evidence pointing to the culprits.  Andy said: 'This has put another two people on the dole in these desperate times.(Copyright Buckingham Echo). It is understood that two people are helping police with their inquiries in what appears to be turf wars in roadside catering.

Builders cut telephone lines in Winslow Tennis Lane- December 14th 2009

The last time phone and power cables were cut in Tennis Lane, in the winter of 2003; live cables wrapped around a fallen tree cut off residents.  It took 14 days to restore phone and power cables.  Chaotic profit driven former public utilities piled excuse upon excuse as an army of contractors arrived and did nothing.

The long term underground cable damage meant it was over a year before reliable power supply was restored.  So when a builder’s lorry caused a break in the phone line on Tuesday December 15th, residents feared more of the same. Luckily ‘Openreach’ has replaced profit hungry BT in maintaining the phone network for a variety of suppliers.  The happy chap featured in our photo restored services the following day.

Hunting Tradition continues on Boxing Day, Winslow 2009 by Robert Cook

The Whaddon Chase met as usual in Home Close, in the shadow of the Lowndes old family home, Winslow Hall.  This has become their custom ever since New Labour’s police state mentality chose to ban fox hunting as part of their dubious agenda to cure the nation’s ills.

As far as I am concerned the hunt is still a fine sight.  I suspect that most red-blooded men will share my view that with so many fine ladies out in tight hunting jackets, boots and jodhpurs, it is also a little erotic.

I watched three such fillies share the stirrup cup.  One said to the other, 'I have had three sips.  That’s enough for me.'  Historically it was called fox’s blood. Though I doubt anyone ever actually drank real blood.

The well-turned out ladies and red coated huntsmen were shown to fine effect in the bright winter sunlight.  For them and the large crowd that flocked in the field and lined the road out through Horn Street, it was a very convivial atmosphere, reinforcing what Winslow has always been about. My pleasure was complete when I very good friend offered me mulled wine and a mince pie.  Her home is along the hunting route and she was sharing wine and pies in the true spirit of Christmas.  It was the very best of Dickensian England, still alive in the heart of the country.

The Whaddon Chase has an interesting history.  Traditionally a chase is an open run through the woods. Stag hunting was a separate sport.  Fox hunting is better known.  The Lowndes family, of Winslow Hall, were its linchpins until financial problems after World War One.  Then as now, the rural economy was under great strain.

In the mid 1920sThe Prince of Wales even rode with the Whaddon Chasers. This ended when farmers Bert and Syd Illing fired their shotguns at the huntsman, insulting the prince in the process.  By the late 1960s, anti hunt protestors had become part of the scenery.

Riding on the politically correct bandwagon, and with a hidden agenda to destroy the Tory rural economy, hunting was abolished.  The foxes still die- shot, poisoned or gassed.

As the rural economy declines and fields give way to housing.   more foxes than ever will be driven off the land and killed.  But the ordinary Britain is persuaded to support the wealthy elite in their fake class war against the Tories. New Labour has mortgaged the nation to international capitalists and bankers. They have enriched themselves and impoverished the masses.

Banning hunting is a sop to the ignorant and aggrieved urban masses.  Our state education system is all about inculcating certain PC values.  Literacy and numeracy are at all time lows, yet educational establishment figures tell us things are getting ever better.  Drunken moronic and depraved behaviour on our town and city streets tells another story.  Unemployment, ignoring all the fiddled figures- like crime- is at record levels.  An appalling and patronising PC education system is essential to New Labour’s tyranny.

There are a few of us carrot-crunching yokels who see straight through the metropolitan elite’s sophistry.  Long may the hunting folk make their stand.  Pity they don’t chase a fox and see what happens

Unemployment Rising- December 20O9

Things are getting worse.  Economic incompetence, mass immigration and social engineering have cost this country dear under upper class New Labour Rule. The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) warned of "tough times" ahead for UK workplaces with a "sting" in the tail of the recession.

The group expects a winter rise in unemployment as firms judge prospects for the economy in the coming year.

The report estimated the number of people in work will fall by 250,000 between the third quarter of this year and the second three months of 2010.

The CIPD said employers are likely to decide to raise productivity and reduce labour costs.

But the prediction is much lower than an earlier forecast by the CIPD of 3.2 million people out of work, with the report adding that the coming year will be better for jobs than 2009.

2010 Comes in Under a Dark Cloud- January 1st 2010

The New York Bank has ridiculed Gordon Brown's forecast for economic growth. The world has a mass of bad debt, with Britian having more than its fair share.  The mainstream parties are locked in a white liberal consensus.  This year's General Electiuon is unlikely to have serious impact in lessening the social and economic misery awaiting the masses.

Thus it was no surprise that this years New Years celebrations in Buckingham were more subdued than usualOur roving reporter toured the local pubs.  There was little to see.  Not even the sound of Auld Lang Syne marked the start of the final year of the first decade of the new milliennium.  We have no doubt there is worse to come.

Winslow Sheep St A413 1.15am.  January 2010 Snow had fallen for over two hours and no gritting had taken place.

Snow Chaos across nation- weather update January 10th 2010. One of Buck's CC's contractors gritters makers rare appearance in Winslow High St as nation is warned not to travel unless vital.

There was chaos across Britain today after a few inches of totally expected snowfall.  Trains in the South were cancelled and problems included a train stuck in a tunnel near east Grinstead.

In West Lancs, traffic police were seen clearing the A59 using their own salt.
Our northern correspondent said: ‘West Lancs council was given a five star award for five areas of excellence. They then spent a fortune putting five gold stars and a red arrow on all of the council vehicles    .  Some of the stars and arrows fell off because they were not put on properly.
They have a big plaque in their offices saying what the areas of excellence are.  They are all bullshit.

‘They do all that and don’t care about people falling down and breaking their necks and limbs.’

A Winslow pensioner posed the question: 'What are we paying council taxes for?’ With no hope of side roads or pavements being cleared, private individuals had to do it themselves.  As a former Bucks County Council highways operative, said he knows why and how things have changed.  ‘It is all about politics and priorities. Honesty is not something politicians are good at.’

Our picture below shows Tennis Lane residents digging out snow because the council won't do it. Residents here pay high council tax and don't even get wheelie bin or full recycling service.  The Lane is full of pot holes and has not been resurfaced since 1974

Browned Off by Robert Cook, January 7th 2010.

Sinking Deeper into the Brown Stuff by Robert Cook, January 7th 2010

Britain’s mass media is self-censoring and in large part lackeys to big groups like Johnston Press and Murdoch.  That is why the local Advertiser is bland and boring and sales are falling.  There was recently a major arson attack on a Buckingham Business. It did not attract the Advertiser’s interest.

When moderate snow hit the area in January 2009, the Johnston Press owned Advertiser reported the fun and game skids were having being off school.  Old folk freezing and horror on our roads did not bother them.  Sadly Johnston plan to expand into the Internet, where BBC, Yahoo and Reuters also lack any serious comment on the state of Britain or anything else.

The so-called big freeze and the few inches of snow are expected to cost the country £14.5 billion by the end of the month.  I visited Buckingham today. The roads are a disgrace. Even the main A413 was appalling. The town centre was an ice rink and the car parks treacherous.

The Daily Express urged folk to show the Dunkirk spirit.  Most people don’t know what that means, but it is an appropriate metaphor. In 1940 this country encountered near wipe out against the Germans in World War Two.  If Hitler had not been nuts, it would have happened, but he turned his attention on Russia.  Britain was ill equipped for Dunkirk and a lot of British working men were killed or injured, like my father.  Propaganda, or spin, made disaster look like victory.

Spin is the only thing New Labour have ever been good at.  In this so-called hardest winter, few will recall 1963 when snowdrifts were much higher and soon cleared.  Other European countries, even eastern and Scandinavian ones don’t have a problem But Britain has to spend on things like bullets for the war on terror and translating documents into God knows how many foreign languages for multi cultural- no cultural- Britain.

Now the idiot Brown plans to waste more money that the country doesn’t have on sorting out problems in the Yemen.  It is ironic when one considers how much Britain has contribted to these global difficulties.

Britain has no right to preach the virtues of democracy in foreign parts. It’s postal voting and consituency boundary reorganisations are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to election rigging.  Local government comprises more politically correct lackeys than the kind of men I worked with on Bucks County Council’s Highway Department lorries in 1974.

The British economy and society is ruined because of New Labour’s Social engineering policies. This won’t be discussed in the next general election campaign.  This is because the media is controlled and edited by a metropolitan elite.

Seventy per cent of those who dwell in rural areas like Buckingham used to live in cities. Some of them are part of that elite. They would be outraged if I used the term ‘white flight’ to describe their exodus.

Freedom of speech and thought is not allowed under New Labour. A new law gives police the right to monitor phones and Internet use without warrants.  They justify this by exaggerating the risk of terrorists and sex offenders, whilst down playing far more prevalent problems which are the result of their policies.

As we look back on the struggle to keep local NHS services, fight the worse consequences of Milton Keynes and Aylesbury’s ill considered expansion, along with Buckingham’s, we should ask what on earth we are paying New Labour’s local and national record taxes for.  The answer is because most British people are apathetic and don’t have a clue what is going on. An appallingly political correct education and media system keeps them on message.  This has been happening since 1997.  In consequence, Britain is now down to twenty fifth in the league of best places to live in Europe, way behind all of Eastern Europe. In spite of this, there is a chance that these self-interested dictators will win the next election sand take the nation even deeper into the brown stuff.  The only sign of hope is that the pusillanimous pair of New labour Ministers, Geoff ‘Buff’ Hoon and feminist harridan Patricia Hewett have launched a campaign to oust Brown to save their sorry and worthless political skins.

Aylesbury a crime ridden, anomic hell hole by Charlie Close January 8th 2010

Aylesbury was famous in the 1970s for fighting the Labour Government’s obsession with keeping its grammar schools. It’s serious history goes back to when Henry V111 decided to please Ann Boleyn’s father by giving his manor of Aylesbury County town status.  He thus diminished Buckingham.

Aylesbury's new theatre district,2009.

Copyright Buckingham Echo

Since then Royal and

Political scandals show us just how seedy power and politics have always been. It is politicians who have decided to over expand Milton Keynes, Aylesbury and Buckingham. Each of these town’s (Milton Keynes is not a city, contrary to what its pompous politicians might say.) will be expanded with no thought to commensurate infrastructure.

Last year Aylesburians were offended by having their town called an economic backwater.  It is worse than that.  New Labour gets off on nonsense like multi culturalism and no doubt thought it having an ethnic minority mayor quite marvellous.
In reality the town’s mayor is of little significance.  But pandering to any group in particular creates a sense of injustice.  It is a way of distracting people from serious problems

Like self-important Milton Keynes, Aylesbury has had to have a theatre built.  But it will never be a cultural centre, except in the mind of its typical Home Counties cloud cuckoo land elite.

As I wrote in my recent book, ‘Buckingham Through Time’, Aylesbury is an anomic crime ridden hell hole- and I am being polite here. Educating an elite at two local grammar schools masks the reality of the town’s failing schools. With current expansion plans the situation will get worse.

This week, Consultants Colin Buchanan said that the town’s poor road and rail links would hamper plans to create 25,000 new homes in the region.  That is an understatement the town’s MP said the report had told us what we already know.  The county council hasn’t got the money to build the infrastructure. MP David Lidington said the report ‘ demonstrates yet again, the government has planned housing growth for Aylesbury without thinking through the infrastructure….’  He is wrong.  The government has thought about it and does not care at all.

A previous report demonstrated the obvious. The region has lacked job creation for years.  Expensive housing is built with affluent commuters and professionals in mind.  Working class housing- and the working class exist in greater numbers than ever under New Labour, contrary to propaganda by all main parties- is far worse than the charms of compressed cardboard and sheet steel used to build Southcourt after World War.  For many, especially young men, Aylesbury is a town without hope.  But Bucks is worse than most places when it comes to glossing over the truth.  The foundations of our society have been undermined for years.  There is little left.

My new book, ‘Aylesbury Through Time’ will be available in a few months time.

Germany responds to heavy snow with of Salt- January 10th 2010

Those who say it is impossible to keep the roads clear, from heavy snow, should know that Germany has no problem.  But is salting the best solution?

Heavy new year snowfall in large parts of Germany has prompted many to use salt to melt snow and ice from slippery roads. But experts warn that the excessive use of road salt could cause irreversible damage to the environment. Pavements and roads across the country being dumped with tons of salt in an effort to avoid accidents.

An estimated 1.59 million tons of road salt on average are applied on public roadways in Germany each year, according to the salt industry. But climate experts say the road salt, which frequently contains dyes and other chemicals, actually causes more environmental harm than it does good. Worse, it can adversely affect a widespread area long after winter has passed.  It can kill trees.

The alkaline salt can seep into the ground, causing unforeseen damage when snow melts during the early spring.Once in the ground, the salt chokes out plant nutrients and can kill trees by damaging the ability of alkali-sensitive plants from absorbing water. Trees such as maple, linden, and chestnut trees that usually line German boulevards are the worst affected.

Studies have also found that road salt puts a strain on local animal species. A US study in 2005 found that high salt concentrations affected the ability of wood frogs and spotted salamanders to survive, with eggs and embryos dying in experiments when subjected to high salt concentrations.

With more snow forecast this month, climate experts such as Ittershagen are urging people to use "environmentally-friendly alternatives" such as special snow brooms and salt-free substances such as sand and gravel to de-ice the roads.

This would prevent salt's negative impacts without sacrificing public safety.
But Germany's salt industry claims that the environmental downside of salting roads is exaggerated given that the country has cut down on the use of road salt in recent years"Environmental damage has reduced sharply in the past few years because less salt is being used more strategically," Dieter Krueger, a spokesman for the Association of Pot Ash and Salt Industry (VKS), said.

He pointed out that Germany had dropped the practice of excessively salting roads after massive environmental damage in the 1960s and 1970s.
Krueger said that local authorities were also moistening the salt before applying it to roads - a practice that reduced salt content by 40 percent, he claimed.

Strip Search for all air travellers- January 10th 2010-01-10

New Labour Government is trialing a strip search scanner at Manchester Airport. Politically correct New Labour, which has an open door immigration policy to import New Labour voters and cheap labour, refuses to carry out ethnic profiling at airports. It prefers to humiliate white men, women and children by using scanners that reveal every contour of the human body.  How perverted is that?

Foreign Workforce increases by 22,000- January 10th 2010-01-10

Last October State Broadcaster BBC set BNP’s Nick Griffin up for humiliation as a nasty racist.  Meanwhile under  New Labour the number of foreign-born residents rose to 3,730,000.  A leaked New Labour document revealed that the party had a policy to dilute and destroy British working and middle class culture to create a multi culture that would always vote for them.  How Nazi is that?

In spite of the worst recession on record- worse and very different to the 1930s- British born workers fell by 625,000, while foreign born workers increased by 22,000.
Echo proprietor Robert Cook said: ‘I realise that publishing such observations may lay us at risk of prosecution under one of New Labour’s many social engineering laws, but I think the truth is very important.

'If more people had stood up to Hitler we would have avoided a World War.  New Labour is like the Nazis in their methods and approach and I am going to have my say.  Britain is not a democracy.  The monarchy has not been allowed to comment on state affairs since the eighteenth century.  Now Brown wheels out the Queen to rubber stamp policies that are destroying Britain. People just don’t realise how serious things are.  Buckingham and Winslow want to live in a time warp. They are a mixture of comfortable professionals and forelock tugging rustics, It is time they woke up to reality.’

Browned_off.jpgACC_CHESTERMAN_2.jpg

Faces of Britain Today, Dickensian Gordon Brown and former Bucks Police Chief and Hitler impersonator Simon Chesterman- now an advsior to sleazy, corrupt and incompetent elitist New Labour.

Thoughts on the police, by Charlie Close, January 13th 2010

The New labour Government loves the European Community as long as it backs what they want to do. So a European Court ruling that the powers they gave to the police, under Section 44 of the Terrorism Act 2000, have been ruled unlawful under the Human Rights Act.

Any fair study of New Labour’s history in power shows clearly that the Human Rights Act was brought in to serve their purposes to destroy Britain’s traditional culture and to create a multi cultural immigrant driven New Labour load of lackeys to upper middle class pseudo intellectual fools who would struggle to change the proverbial light bulb.

Matters came to a head, over Section 44, when police stopped and searched Kevin Gillan and Pennie Quinton, near the Defence Systems and Equipment International Exhibition at the Excel Centre London’s Docklands.  Journalist Quinton was wearing a journalist’s jacket.  This is a red rag to a bull for police working to protect and advance New Labour.

Ms Quinton said, “The Court has shown that Section 44 is an invasion of people’s right to liberty and privacy.”  The couple were awarded over £30,000 compensation. The Echo agrees with their stance.  New Labour has stoked up hostility with the Moslem world. Blair’s arrogant spin doctor, Campbell, has shown how unrepentant he is for the lies he told to get the Iraq war going, kill millions and stoke up misery.  Like the rest of New Labour’s arrogant elite, he is a liar.  His party is turning decent police officers into Stassi. Some officers are, of course in their element.

New Labour are appealing against the European Court’s decision.  Meanwhile, the police are allowed to continue with stop and search.  For diversity reasons they must not appear to target ethnic groups normally associated with Islam. The police do not like to appear racist.  To be seen as even handed, they have to stop and search the same proportion of white or black British.

ACC_CHESTERMAN_2.jpgNICE_ONE_COPPER.jpgBrowned_off.jpgass_chessterman.jpg

What do these people have in common?  More to come.

Top Left, Assistant Chief Constable Simon Chesterman.  He advises Keith Vaz's Parliamentary Home Affairs Committee.  He was part of the inquiry that said the G20 police did not intend to harm the man on the right, Ian Tomlinson.

Bottom left is Dickensian buffoon and totally incomeptent and disingenous self serving Gordon Brown.  Brown of the New Labour chattering classes made Britian's financial markets the most deregulated in the developed world.  Brown paved the way for financial collapse and the aggressively policed G20 demonstration..  Next to him is another face of a joker, ACC Simon Chesterman. Under New Labour, men like him have much to laugh about.

Aylesbury Vale and Bucks County Council barrel scraping to avoid even more council tax rises by Charlie Close- January 15th 2010.

Aylesbury Vale District Council’s scrutiny committee are looking at plans to cut funding to Winslow’s Reflex gym and Buckingham’s tourist information centre.  Car parking charges are also on the cards for Buckingham and Winslow in spite of current trading difficulties.

Council taxes are at record levels and, as the recent gritting situation showed, services are at a record low. This is a paradox because public spending is at an all time high under New Labour The maths just do not add up.

New Labour’s Communities Secretary John Denham admitted, yesterday that his party had failed the white working classes. Some of us have known this for years.  New Labour is predominantly a collection of superficial posturing upper and upper middle class elitists. The only reason that Denham is making his pronouncement and promises to do better is because his party is afraid that their traditional supporters will vote for the BNP.

It will serve them and the other two main parties right if they do. There is no reason to trust any of them. They are all inclined to breathe fire and brimstone about benefit scroungers. This is in spite of the fact that most benefit scroungers and swindlers are immigrants.  Indigenous folk find it very difficult to get anything out of the system that they or their ancestors have paid into.

The political elite is highly paid. They are not exactly failures. They do what they want to do, for themselves.  Their petty officials in Whitehall and local government have easy lives and gold plated pensions. They have no idea of the miseries and hardships that working people have. This writer does.  We have the recession, the hopelessness and despair. The country is ripe for fascism. Meanwhile the fat bloated one-eyed Prime Minister offers aid to Yemen and Haiti. Haiti, like most former colonies, has brought hardship on its self, with corrupt government and overpopulation. Civilisation will not advance until it has a system to remove governments for failing to meet certain criteria on a yearly basis.

In the case of Bucks and AVDC, what is needed is a root and branch study of their workforce and departments and a programme of redundancy. Why should a Bucks School governor services manager earn £50,000 a year when the average factopry worker takes home £15,000. Another county official earns £50,000 pa letting out rooms in school buildings.  Politcally correct county officials preach offical values from a highly privileged position.  Meanwhile our schools are failing seriously. Disturbingly, local authorities exist to tell us what a great job they are doing. Neither authority gives value for money.  Their major product is spin- another word for lies.

More Houses for Winslow January 15th 2010

With local infrastructure at the point of collapse, Buckingham and Winslow face massive increases in new house building.  It won’t create affordable housing.  The whole point is to exploit the market potential of the area. Buckingham town centre approach is already scarred with the halted Bridge Street development.

Now plans for 116 new homes in Winlsow’s Furze Lane beauty spot have been stalled while the planning authority seeks more information. In a sane world, the only information they would need would be that enough is enough.  Councillor Michael Edmonds of the development and control sub committee of AVDC sees it differently. He said there are only a few points to clear up before building gets the go ahead.

Tesco Prepares for Bigger Buckingham- January 25th 2010.

Buckingham Tesco’s original expansion works are pictured above- copyright Buckingham Echo.

Ever since Jack Cohen founded opened his first shop in the depressed 1930s, his company has been fired up for growth. With Hallam Homes planning to build over 700 homes in fields opposite the Buckingham London Road store, Tesco has not wasted times publishing plans to expand its store by 66%.  This will include a new upper floor and larger restaurant.

The store will recycle rainwater and adopt other environmentally friendly features. Detailed plans can be viewed in store until February 2nd. An insider has told us that the plans are certain to be approved.  Up to 150 new jobs, many part time will be created in the process. Tesco intend to offer many more lines and say that highway improvements will make all of this possible.

AVDC Sham Consultation January 25th 2010

Aylesbury Vale’s Local Development Framework is up for consultation. This is a matter of routine as the authority takes little or no notice of anything that conflicts with their plans.  If it did, then they would have problems with Central Government.

The government routinely sets impossible targets and never offers serious funding of r infrastructure. Residential development on the Bletchley Road, just eats of the great Horwood Road roundabout, is an area up for discussion. The location is called Salden and found fame when local farmers fired their shotguns at the Prince of Wales.

But as part of the Milton Keynes westward expansion plan, there are no guns powerful enough to shoot these plans down.  Offering plans for public comment and scrutiny is just part of Britain'’ fake democracy. Any one daft enough to think their opinion counts has up until March 3rd 2010 to respond.

Totalitarian Britain-January 25th 2010.

Buckingham Town Council votes to save Buckingham Tourist information office and Festival fortnight. - January 25th 2010-01-25
Barrel scraping AVDC are unlikely to relent on planned cuts to the tourist information centre and festival fortnight. Fortunately Town Cllr Robin Stuchbury has persuaded the town council to make up the short fall.

To the Echo it seems that the main authorities have forgotten that they exist to provide services, preferring to fund a lot of politically correct jobs in their large Aylesbury Offices.  Sadly, people seem to have lost the will to protest. But then again. Recalling G20, protest is a dangerous thing in an increasingly totalitarian country.

New Book on Buckingham banned- January 27th 2010

Buckingham through Time, by Charles Close, has been banned by Buckingham Old Gaol bookshop. The Echo has been informed that the book was selling well. However, when one of the old Gaol Trustees read a copy. The trustee’s reaction was of shock, dismayed disgust, we are informed.

The Trustees have taken the view that the book is kicking the town when it is down, according to our source.  There will be more to come on this story, including comments from the author Charles Close. We will also review the troublesome book, which is a follow up on Close’s rather jaundiced volume on nearby Winslow. It is understood that the Winslow book has been a runaway success, but the Buckingham volume may never be seen on sale in town again. We will be taking a look to see exactly just how shocking and offensive ’Buckingham through Time’ is.

Buckingham was recently disparaged in the national press, being described as an affluent bolthole, living in a time warp and carried by forelock tugging carrot crunching and deferential yokels.

Copies of Buckingham Through Time can be purchased directly from Buckingham Echo for £12, including postage and packing.

Evidence from Whitehall Lawyers suggests new Labour are guilty of War Crimes over Iraq- January 27th 2010.

Whitehall lawyers told New Labour Prime Minister Tony Blair, and his cabinet, that war on Iraq could not be justified as self-defence or on any other grounds. The Prime Minister’s staff demanded to know why the advice was put in writing as they did not want any evidence to implicate them or Blair’s government- which included Prime Minister Brown and Justice Minister Straw.

The Iraq invasion followed a dishonest dossier, which argued that Iraq could send missiles to blitz Britain in a few minutes and that Iraq had chemical weapon making facilities. U.N Weapons Inspector Dr David Kelly died mysteriously after disputing this and BBC reporter Andrew Gilligan was sacked for reporting Kelly’s views. People should think very carefully before voting New Labour.

Sir Edward Tomkin’s  daughter stole £200k to buy horses sperm.
The daughter of Winslow squire and former British ambassador has been ordered to sell 18 show jumping horses after admitting stealing more than £200,000 from the hospital trust where she worked to buy them.

Sir Edward Tomkins’ daughter imported horse sperm into Britain disguised as human semen for IVF treatment. Loiuse Tomkins, 48, was mployed as a senior general manager at the Imperial College NHS Healthcare Trust in West London, the UK's largest NHS trust, the NHS trust, which she joined in 2004. Louise Tomkins (48) was employed as a senior general manager at the Imperial College NHS Healthcare Trust in west London. It is alleged that she diverted NHS funds to buy horse sperm that was then used to breed mares. Tomkins was arrested by police and was bailed. It is understood that she recently left the trust, which she joined in 2004.

She was in court this week, answering charges that she misappropriated £200,000 for her horse breeding business and personal gain.Tomkins admitting stealing more than £200,000 from the hospital trust where she worked

Well connected and banker’s grandaughter, Tomkins was simultaneously running a stud farm in Horsham, West Sussex, where she breeds top showjumping and dressage horses. Louise Tomkins diverted NHS funds to buy the horse sperm that was then used to breed mares.

Police were alerted after internal audits revealed an unusual series of large purchases of human semen from overseas suppliers. Invoices said to be worth several hundred thousand pounds had allegedly been created to account for the transactions. When these were later checked it appeared that the companies had supplied thoroughbred horse sperm. Tomkins stud boasts several brood mares, including Holsteiner, Hanoverian and Westphalian breeds. However, she left to run her Southfield Stud in Horsham, West Sussex, in 2008

Police stressed there has been no suggestion of any horse sperm being improperly or inadvertently used in the trust's IVF treatments. Imperial College Healthcare has some of the UK's leading IVF treatment facilities. These include the Hammersmith Hospital, where Robert Winston pioneered many groundbreaking techniques in reproductive surgery.

Tomkins, admitted a single count of defrauding the NHS out of a total of £201,333.27 at Southwark Crown Court.

Judge Christopher Hardy bailed her and adjourned sentencing until April 30, so she can sell the horses in the spring sales. This is because the best time to sell horses in April.

Neil Saunders, defending, told the court: "Mrs Tomkins worked for various NHS Trusts.

"Between about July 2007 and September 2008, a large number of false invoices were used by her to obtain payments either to herself or to others.

"She accepts the dishonesty, and that the system that was used was false invoices."

There was "no dispute" that she accepted the loss figure was about £200,000, he said, adding that she was "best placed" to recoup the money by selling the horses herself.

However, he said: "This is not the best time to sell a horse, the sales are in April." The question that springs to mind is, if this was a working class bloke who had committed monumental fraud against teh NHS, would he have been shown such leniency and understanding?  Britain is a class ridden anti male country under New Labour.  Vote Tory and see if it makes a difference. I doubt it will..

Tomkins was a senior general manager at Imperial College NHS Healthcare Trust, which runs Charing Cross Hospital in west London.

Tomkins, grew up in Winslow Hall, a large Buckinghamshire house designed by Sir Christopher Wren. The ambassador and his wife Gillian Benson, of the banking family, restored the property after buying it in the late 1950s.

Tony Blair viewed it twice in 2007, following Sir Edward's death aged 91, but decided against buying the £3 million house.

Buckingham through Time by Charles Close Banned by Old Gaol Museum Bookshop- February 1st 2010.

Echo editor Charles Close has responded to the ban on his new book, ‘Buckingham Through Time.’  According to an Echo source, the past and present book about Buckingham was selling well.  Then one of the old Gaol Tourist centre trustees read it and alerted fellow trustees.  The majority agreed that the book was offensive to Buckingham. We are informed that the consensus was that Close was hitting the town while it was down.

Close said: ‘I am sorry they felt that way. Ignoring the serious problems facing Buckingham and the country at large is like the proverbial Ostrich.  Reckless development plans Like Bridge Street and opposite Tescos are going to ruin Buckingham. I am told that because I live in Winslow I am hitting Buckingham in a sort of mindless way. I don’t see things like that.  Winslow is not a rival to Buckingham and is not comparable.  Buckingham has great character. It is sad to see what is happening to it.

‘My book was meant to entertain, promote debate and discussion. I don’t think it is that radical.  It says a lot that a small clique of pompous and self-important people see fit to decide what local people can read. If the town were not in trouble, it would not rely on a politically motivated and self-appointed elite to decide what it can read about the town. It should be a cause for concern that the old Gaol is funded by council tax.

‘Buckingham was ridiculed in the local press for being out of touch. This sorry act of censorship says it all. Buckingham’s leaders may well use council tax to keep the festival going and the Old Gaol Museum and tourist centre open, but for what purpose? I suggest that it is to promote the notion that Buckingham is some sort of heaven and haven.

‘It has huge problems, but it acts like it is still in the 1950s. It is a mix of arrogant wealthy newcomers and deferential forelock tugging yokels as far as I can see.  George Walden, the previous Tory MP said as much in his memoirs and no one reacted.  That is because they all looked up to the apparent toff who actually grew up in a working class area of Dagenham.  But I doubt many of the local yokels read his book.

‘Yes, my book is shocking.  It is full of hideous sex, violence and depravity. It tells the story of the town the way it was and is. So why don’t you all go out and buy it?’

We asked a cross section of Buckingham, people what they thought of Close's book. One said it was too close for comfort.

A middle aged woman said that it wa a very irresponsible piece of writing, although she admitted that she couldn't actually read.

She said that her second cousin who was also her husband and father of her seven children had looked at the pictures and found them highly offensive. She said: 'Buckingham is a lovely place.  i should know because I was born and inbred here.

Aylesbury Housing Expansion Supremo February 4th 2010 by Robert Cook.

Aylesbury’s growth has been piecemeal since 1945. Designated an expanded town in the 1950s, growth was modest. In recent years common sense has been cast aside and the county town’s infrastructure is not fit for purpose.

In spite of this there is more to come. Record levels of divorce and unrestricted immigration has pushed housing demand through the roof.
Government Planning Inspector Geoff Salter has been appointed to oversee the location of 17,000 new homes in the Aylesbury Vale area. The 146 page Core Strategy outlines the strategic sites for these new homes. Detail on supporting infrastructure is scant. AVDC has been economical with information to the public, but insiders know that Infrastructure will not be there to cope. Traffic congestion will be the tip of the iceberg.

The scheme is called the ‘Core Strategy.’  This writer was chair of the North Bucks Town and Parish Council Consortium during the Richardson Inquiry into the expansion of Milton Keynes.  When told of the infrastructure problems that Milton Keynes expansion would cause, we were told that we were there to make the plan work come what may. In an interview with Milton Keynes Partnership Chairman Sir Bob Reid, I was told that expansion would not work without re opening the East West Rail Link.  As the last chair of British Rail, Sir Bob knew what he was talking about. Eight years later, we see no sign of the rail link and gridlock is routine for Milton Keynes famous grid roads.

The once proud county town of Aylesbury can expect the same. It is already a shabby dirty place with terrible services and social problems. Criticism is not allowed in this age of spin.

I have no doubt that Salter will be a rubber stamp for an inquiry into a foregone conclusion. Residents in Winslow, Haddenham, Buckingham and Newton Longville will not be listened to. As the Old Gaol’s recent banning of Charles Close’s Buckingham through Time Volume demonstrates, the great and good of Buckingham would prefer there to be no informed comment on the state and future of Buckingham. The vast majority of Buckingham people let it all go over their heads.

The Inquiry process goes on until March 30th 2010.

Arctic Chaos next week- February 5th 2010

Once again this pathetic little country is on snow alert. The media loves the imagery of arctic chaos. Have any of them ever driven in the Arctic to know that the analogy is ludicrous. A few inches of snow is not arctic and minus 12 degrees c is mild for the pole.

Mainstream media are lackeys to the Government and corrupt political system. The truth is a little snow brings chaos because there is no preparation or resources in place to deal with it. Someone complained to us recently that we did not know what we were talking about. We were told it was much worse back in the 1960s and 80s. That is not true and more resources were there to deal with adverse weather. In a progressive society, one would also expect technology and resources to have moved on and to be even better placed to cope.

The hard truth is that the global economy exists to enrich bankers, corrupt politicians and the rest of the elite. Meanwhile, most of the British public are cabbages, fixated by fears of rapists, paedophiles and terrorists. They don’t see the real danger.
